How it works

Three steps. Then the city opens up.

No tapping from the sofa. A pin unlocks because you are actually there.

  1. 01

    Find a pin

Open the map and pick a place within reach: a café, a close, a statue, a record shop.

  2. 02

    Walk to it

The pin checks where you are, not how fast you tap. Arrive, dwell for a moment, unlock.

  3. 03

    Keep the proof

Each visit earns a card and a stamp. Finish a set, then redeem a real perk at a partner venue.

For venues

For the places that make the walk.

Independent cafés, pubs, shops, studios and heritage sites. Put a perk behind a pin, meet the people who walk to you, and see verified visits, not vanity metrics.

  • Verified visits, counted at the till
  • You set the perk and the limits
  • No tracking by third-party companies

The best city guide is the one you walk.

Scottish Insider is an independent project by JourneyDude, for people who would rather find a place than scroll past it. If you are tired of being rushed through a city by a guide who already has another group waiting, if you are travelling on a budget, or you just want to find places nobody points at, this is for you.

Built by JourneyDude · Films and photography on YouTube

Scottish Insider is developed with disabled people, older walkers and anyone who needs a slower pace in mind. Nobody should be left behind when it comes to discovering a place.
